History

Since 1996 Fircroft has been actively involved in the provision of managed agency solutions’ both in the UK and Europe. The Managed Agency Solutions model has been tested and proved rigorous with up to 12,000 contractors across multiple sites. These involved the full spectrum of skill sets.

The model has evolved through:

In 1996 the team launched the system into the UK wide sites of a major OEM as a true Vendor Neutral service.

The team started the above process with over 125 suppliers who were a mixture of local BMEs, SMEs and national organisations.

Since 2005 this methodology has been deployed at Petro-Canada in London and Aberdeen. We continue to use a collaborative approach towards the supply base (approximately 45 suppliers). Our approach harmonises the recruitment and procurement skills into a holistic strategy. This benefits all parties – client, agency and temporary worker.

By monitoring the supplier’s performance we were the first to introduce a balanced scorecard approach in 1996. This enabled us to take a dispassionate view of the agencies performance, strengths and weaknesses. With this data we were able to tier the suppliers by skill group, creating 3 tiers. The third tier was for niche and/or hard-to-fill positions. Agencies were given the opportunity to increase their business based upon their performance and not preconceptions.

We have demonstrated:

  • 35% improvement in the quality of CVs
  • 25% reduction in placement timing
  • 10% reduction in unplanned attrition
  • Reduced the cost of the service by over 10%

All this has been achieved by working in true partnership with all parties.
